Induction Program For First year students (2017-18)

The basic idea of induction program is make the environment as friendly as possible for our new entrant. Overcoming the inhibitions and mixing with others should be made a enjoyable as possible with simultaneous awareness of the challenge ahead in their academic career.

It is a five day program in which we had done lots of activities

DAY ONE

THEME : INTRODUCTION

All first year students and faculty members gathered in class room LH-202. Welcome speech was given by Head of the department. He introduced himself, all faculty members and supporting staff of the department. Dr. B.B.Singh (Head of MATHS department) was invited as guest in first session. He inspired the students with his motivational talk. Then all students from first year introduced themselves in their preferable language. In afternoon session student volunteers formed groups of first year students. And groups visited to all departments, canteen, library, noise court, silent court, playground, computer center.

DAY TWO

THEME : IMAGINATION

Next day all first year students gathered in the classroom. Third student volunteers formed groups of first year students by splitting them into the group of 5 students each. One Image, which passes some social message , was given to the students. And task of writing a short story on the basis of what they seen in image was given. Time span of half hour was given to complete activity. Students could use any language of their choice. Then the group leaders presented the stories.

In afternoon session students enjoyed fun games like DHAMSHERAJ.

DAY THREE

THEME : CREATIVITY

In morning session all students gathered in the class room. Again groups of ten students each were formed. Topics like ‘ Note banned’, ’GST’ and many more were given to the groups and asked them to present their views on given topic. There was group discussion among groups and group leader presented their views.

In afternoon session, desktop computers were given to the students for dissembling and again assembling.

DAY FOUR

THEME : Expert talk by Prof. Y. N. Patil, Dr. A.P. Shesh, Dr. L. N. Singh

In the morning session there was discussion on ‘STARTUP’. Students were asked to design any product of their choice. For the same group of 9 students each were formed and asked them that they should imagine a product, work on it. They had to dig out the information about the product, prepare list on requirements, decide cost of the product and find out marketing ideas.

In afternoon session expert talk of Prof. Y. N. Patil, Dr. A.P. Shesh, Dr. L. N. Singh were organized. Prof. Y. N. Patil explained examination system of the University.

DAY FIVE

THEME : COMMUNICATION

The last day was for the reading. Reading and writing material like news papers, books, magazines, writing pad, pen were given to the students. After reading articles group leader presented their views on the topics.

After reading session, tea break was given. After break various fun games were organized by student volunteers.

IN ROUND ONE : CRAFT MAKING

Time period of 10 minutes was given to students and asked them to make paper crafts.

IN ROUND TWO : SPELL BE

In this activity one English alphabet was give to each student. From that they had to make a maximum numbers of words within 02 minutes.

IN ROUND THREE : APTTITUDE TEST

A test based on physics, chemistry, mathematics and general knowledge was conducted.

IN ROUND FOUR : PRESENTATION SESSION

In this session student volunteers gave information about various functions and activities carried out through out year with the help of power point presentation.
